A Friendly Hello from Your Neighbour
My name is Jean Pierre Kloppers, and I live near the park, just like you. I'm putting this information together to ensure our community is aware of a significant proposal affecting Dinton Pastures. I believe that by staying informed, we can better protect the peaceful character of the beautiful area we call home.
What is Being Proposed?
The council has applied for a new licence that would allow for a significant increase in commercial events at the park.
New Licensed Activities
Live & recorded music, dance, plays, film screenings, and alcohol sales for events ranging from small parties to large-scale festivals of 5,000+ people.
Extended Hours
These licensed activities could take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM (23:00), seven days a week, all year round.
Park-Wide Licence
The application covers the entire 350-acre park, meaning events could take place in various locations, some very close to our homes.
Potential Impact on Residents
As residents living in and around the park, we could be uniquely affected.
Noise Nuisance
Amplified music from festivals and events until 11 PM could disrupt the peace and quiet we all value, especially during evenings and weekends.
Traffic & Parking
Large events will inevitably lead to more traffic congestion on our local roads and could cause parking issues, potentially affecting access to our homes.
Safety & Security
With large crowds and late-night alcohol sales, there is a concern about attendees wandering near our properties, posing a potential risk to the safety of our homes, children, and pets.
The Hearing and How You Can Be Heard
A public hearing to decide on this application will be held on Tuesday, 1st July 2025. I will be attending to represent the concerns of residents.
